Do you think she could do dressage????
Gypsy's only 14 but has had 6 mo of solid training level dressage and then Ive worked with her after I bought her. But since im trying to sell her I dont know if I should work on the dressage part or the trails? Shes already a good trail horse but she could be better :-P
She also knows how to jump and seems to enjoy it but then once again im not sure if I should put time into it if she dosent have the potential.
What do you guys think I should work on:
-or even re-train for western?
Here are some videos of her.
This one is funny/corny
My suggestion is do both dressage and trails! Horses can get bored doing only one thing, and so can people. Besides, who says you can't work on dressage whilst out on the trails?
To be honest you are trying to sell a 14 year old horse that is doing a level of work that most 4-6 year olds are more than capable of doing.
It will be an uphill battle.
I guess I should work more in western/trails. She is being ridden english right now so I dont really need to work on it that much expept for her being collected.
Do you guys think 1500 is to much? I did lower the price from 2,000... But I dunno if I should go lower I just want to be able to buy my own saddle after I sell her. :(
I think that 1500 would be a good price, I would say that you might even be able to get the 2000, but it depends on the competition in your area - like what training and experience other horses for sale have, and what they are being sold for.
Have you done any showing or competing with her??
What is her breeding, size and is she registered? And who did the 6 months of dressage on her ?
No I have not done showing/comps... We spent all summer taking show prep lessons and being told we were going to show. But our trainer never took us to one. Well we went and watched a show that was 1hr 30 mins away and only stayed for not even an hour :-x and then went to a tack store (great fun) spending more time at the store then the actuall show.
She is a TB, 15 hh, not registered. And this is the trainers web site, you can even see Gypsy's old sale page... index
Ive had her listed for 2,000 for a while and I only had one person come out to look at her. So I think I might get 1,500. Which sucks cause when I bought her she was 2,800 but paid 1,600 and did all that work. Oh well...
In this market and at that size, also being unregistered and not showing near enough dressage or jumping I would just note the quietness and steadiness of the horse as selling points. There are horses that are registered and have shown thus proving themselves that are still having difficulty to sell.
You may have to lower your price even more.
Oh that sucks..lol. Wait is her size bad? When I bought her I was told she was 15.2 so for three years im saying oh yah my horse is 15.2 bla bla and then when I listed her I sticked her and she was 15hh I was shocked and mad...
