Can anyone recommend a good trainer in Alberta or SK?
I'm not from either province and don't know many people except in the southern part of Alberta unfortunately.

I'm looking for someone to put 30 days (mayyyyybe 60 days but I think 30 days should cover it) on a 4 year old gelding. I only want the basics and I'll take it from there... I've broke a few horses myself but am not really in the position to do it this time. But it's SCARY trying to find someone, especially because my location means that I probably won't be able to go "check up" very often. I'd rather find someone through word of mouth than by an internet

Does anyone have suggestions for a reputable trainer? Atlas will be an all-around horse though I have a particular interest in dressage/jumping eventually though my background is in western... but I think good basics are the same for any discipline. Ideally it would be someone I could take a few lessons from afterward with either Atlas or my mare... I'm interested in reining, dressage, jumping, eventing, and trail classes (mixed bag of tricks I know )

has anyone heard of Terry Jarrett?

Training - Jarrett Reining Horses

or Christine Drisner?

Still Meadows Ranch - sales, boarding, lessons, cattle penning, and more - just a short drive east of Sherwood Park, Alberta

Roland Sawatzky? (apparently he used to event but now is into reining)

Sawatzky Equine Services

I've sort of been trying to avoid the really big name guys... seems like they do more promoting, talking, and selling than they do actual training (after they get big anyway). Plus, I'm sure they're expensive - I can never find a price list, and actually usually can't even find anything that says they actually still start colts for the public haha. But maybe I'm wrong?

He seems like a corporation - the "Jonathan Field Office" is in Abbotsford, and then there are "field regions"
