Weight Gain

I just thought this deserved it's own little thread of progression..I'm just soo proud of how she's gaining weight.

I bought her about 5 weeks ago and she's just been tremendous. I was told she was unpredictable off lead and a very hard keeper. Hard keeper my fat behind. She was on racing feed and hay where she previously was (supposedly). I took her off the grain and tossed her out to pasture with the rest of the horses after her quarantine with free choice hay and grass.

This pictures from about a week ago, and then one from today. I think I'm gonna add a picture of each week, because it's been noticable gain within days and a decent bit each week.

And this picture is from today after our ride. Her ribs are barely visible now and her hips are starting to get covered up and not sticking out anymore.

Edit

Pictures aren't working on my phone, will be in next post :/

She's a little cutie :) Great weight gain. She also looks less scruffy

Iseul 04-15-2013 12:37 AM

Thanks. (: It feels like she's shedding off pounds of fur, lol. Everytime I curry her I get covered in it, she's covered in it, the ground is covered in it, and I have to remove fur from the curry every 10 motions or so, haha. All her starvation fuzz hair is almost out, still a few patches. But she's shedding out nice and dark.(:

And I thought she was shedding a lot before..lmao. She probably could've stuffed my pants like a scarecrow's with all the fuzz coming off her! I brushed her three or four times while I was there (she's in heat... ;; ) and she still had fuzz wanting to come off. I didn't have time for all that though, lol.

So anywho, her ribs are just barely visible (unless she bends weird or it's from an odd angle) and her hips are filling in great!
I just have to figure out what to do about all the cuts she keeps getting on her legs ;;

Also, btw, she wasn't actually tied to my truck, I looped the lead around my tie-down-thingy. She's doing great with tying. (:

Shes looking great. Keep up the good work.

Iseul 04-25-2013 09:49 PM

Thanks.(:

We had a slight drawback as I went out today. Ribs are more visible than last time. Not sure if she just moved her weight back to her loin or not (it looked a little more filled in).

Didn't get any pictures weight-wise since it was getting dark, and it hasn't been a week yet. I keep wanting to post one everytime I go out, haha.

I'm gonna get some vit-a for her since she's shedding funky and it seems like rainrot, but it's between her back legs too. So hopefully that'll fix her up just fine.(:

Now..we wait until next wednesday for more pictures, haha.

did you worm her?

Iseul 05-01-2013 11:35 AM

Yupp, she's wormed. Once with ivermectin when I got her, and then bimectin last week (barn worms every other month).

She still has ribs, but her neck and loin area have been filling in.
