Need Advice ...quick!
Several of you have looked at the qh/tb I am going to test out tomorrow.....However, I have been looking at many many different horses....and I found a 16h registered Arabian...dapple grey....finished 2nd level parelli and some 3rd level....many videos on the website and he looks absolutely amazing....they are only asking 2000...(lost her farm and forced to sell everything)....Here is the link to the website. His name is Reno....please check him out and tell me what you think.....Good enough to drive 3 hours to try him out???? I just hope he's not already sold. I've emailed her a couple of hours ago...no response yet. Will probably call tomorrow. Please tell me what you think!!!!!!
ok this oe i like.....there's nothing wrong with this one......qhtb sort of bugged me....but if i had the cash i would go for this one
that's what I was thinking....I am still going to ride the other one tomorrow...just to see...by the way he's 1500 not 1700...so I'll let you know how that goes....I really really like this Arabian but I have never ridden an Arabian (that I can remember) I use to Thoroughbreds and the like....but he seems like he could be an awesome dressage, english pleasure, possibly hunter/jumper....what do you think?
Gosh he looks gorgeous. Stunning infact!! I definatley prefer him to the other one you were looking at.
Let us know how you go. :D
What is the cost difference. I would be afraid to know
HORSE UPDATE! Results from today's rides.....
OK....so the Arabian Reno is no longer for sell. The owner decided to keep him after all, bummer. BUT...I rode the grey qh and the qh/tb today. The grey knows the basics but that's about it. He needs a lot of riding time. Wasn't spooky at all though...protested a little but once corrected went on fine. The woman who has is a beginner and is scared of him (I can't see why other she is just inexperienced) I never noticed anything that he really did wrong. She just isn't confident enough. He rides nice and I got her to come down to 1200 from 1600 if I get him soon. She just lost her job and really needs the money. He really just needs to be ridden...he's a little stiff on the right side, but still softened up enough to come around on the bit slightly....of course ridden will loosen him up more. I really like him and probably will end up getting him. I see more potential in him and I feel that with my knowledge I can turn him around to a very nice show horse. He also has done extensive trail riding.
The other appendix horse was so stiff he could barely trot a circle. Also wouldn't pick up the right lead in a canter, did once, cantered a few strides, then did a flying change back to the left as we rounded a right corner! His trot is huge and canter is very hard to sit. He has much more training that the 4 yr old. There was a pole on the ground and as we trotted over it he jumped it, although I didn't ask him to. He has jumped and shown and that's a plus. He has an ewe neck and it will take a ton of work to soften him up, make him use his back and rear end more wear he will be strong enough to round out and come onto the bit. Didn't ride with his head high but wouldn't round it down either. He is beat up quite a bit from being kicked and bit in the pasture and is a quite underweight (the lady said if I don't get him, she's definitely moving him Monday to a different boarding barn) I did get her to come down on price as well from 1500 to 1300...he's 10 yrs old if I didn't mention that. Anyways, tell me what ya'll think. Sorry this is so long!
Here is a picture of the qh/tbhttp://www.horseforum.com/userpix/1124_moses_2.jpg
and here is a picture of the grey qh. They are both 15.3hands btw!
I'm not surprise arab is not for sell anymore. Lol! Just checked the site - he's REALLY great (although I'm not that big fan of arabs and arab crosses).
I really like the grey qh. And in the end if you can ride (and looks like you can :) ), you can always put mileage on him (and price is pretty good too).
