College Equestrian Team -- Join or not?
So I tried out for the Western equestrian team at Stanford yesterday, and I don't know the results yet, but I will probably get in. The issue that I'm having is the time commitment required for the team. You practice three times a week, have team meetings once a week, do three hours of barn chores each week, help out at horse shows on weekends, compete in horse shows, and have 3 credits of physical training (e.g. weight training).
I would like to know if anyone else's college equestrian team involves so much work, and would like advice on if I should join or not -- I don't want my grades to suffer, but I really love the horses!
OMG, if it were me I would MAKE it work!
That is so awesome! COngradulations! I am happy for you, in a little-jealous kinda way....
congradulations, if you made it. I sure you'll make the right decision.
ARE YOU NUTS??????? JOIN, JOIN , JOIN if it is too much do something else next year-it's Stanford-ya must be really good honey
Wow. Ours has just about all of that except for the weight training. But its a GREAT experience and totally worth it. Dooo itttt
Oh, and if it is IHSA they usually have scholarships of sorts too
