college?

People that have went into school for a veterinarian, was it worth it? Do you make enough to live comfortably? What are some good schools in the united states?

I am not going to college for being a vet, I'm going to college for Equine Health but I have a few friends pursuing the degree. It's A LOT of hard work and getting into the schools are very competive. You need to be very motivated and not get distracted. Ohio State University has a great program.

I've had class with pre-vet majors (but if you do strictly pre-vet you won't even get a degree after 4 years). You have to be REALLY on top of your game with lots of good grades and experience in the field. You apply to a lot of vet schools and do the interviews. You apply to as many as you can and hope you get into one of them. Some people are lucky and get into 2-3 and get to choose. The popular ones that the people I know go to are Kansas State, Iowa State, and Iowa. They all have excellent vet programs.
