I'm Boring Without Horses
Lakota is off to the trainer's, being broke to ride. He's only been there for 6 days and I feel like I'm going to go insane. I literally have no life without my horse. All I do now is sit on the couch and wonder how his training is going, if he's doing good in his new stall, if he's made any horse friends over there.
And to make it even worse, I have his trainer's number in my cell phone, just begging me to text her and ask how he's doing(
I've already done it once, just because the curiosity was gnawing at me  ). I try to make myself feel better by reading the Horse Forum, hoping that it will cure my horse fever. I've also started playing horse sims more often than usual. Nothing helps.
*sigh* Jeez, what did I ever do before the horse bug bit me?..I forgot.
Can you go visit him?
I'm just genuinely curious so I hope that doesn't come off as rude. If I were you, I'd go out and watch your horse during a training session. At least check up to make sure the training is going as you've envisioned. It's your horse & your money so you have every right to check up.
Well, call her and ask about going out to watch.
Get yourself to bed early and get up early and out to see him being worked if this is her schedule.
I wouldn't be there every day but it would be nice to see the progress. Just stay out of the way and say thank you! : )
Well, technically it's not my money that's being spent, it's my grandparents'. lol
So, if I were to go there, my grandma would go with me, which (and I'm not trying to be mean or anything) I would dread. Simply because my grandma is known to be one to be way too loud around animals while you are working with them. Cattle, goats, horses, dogs. You name it, and she is likely to yell around it at the wrong time, and sometimes in the wrong place. She honestly doesn't mean to and she doesn't even notice that she's doing it.
It just seems like it would be a struggle to get there, considering I *still* don't have my driver's license (that's a long and complicated story of it's own).
Maybe I can just ask the trainer for updates every 3 days or so? That seems reasonable, right?
Every three days sounds pretty reasonable.
I know what you mean about be being boring with out horses. When I first moved from the farm I was so lost! Thankfully I have two part time jobs right now so I keep myself fairly busy. Still miss my horses, but nothing to be done about that right now.
Exercise to keep your body in shape and mind occupied.

LOL Okay, I see your problem with getting out there. Maybe Grandma could take you out sometime just to visit the horse...take him some apples or carrots...just to say Howdy and get a quick horse fix. That shouldn't interrupt any training schedule. But you do need to ask the trainer and keep in touch with her.
Sounds like you and your boyfriend have a good exercise plan to keep you busy. Beats sitting around eating bonbons and feeling blue. It will keep you in shape so you will be ready to ride when your horse comes home!
