I like to wear foundation for both regular days & show days. I have acne scars that are quite visible- I need something as I also give potential boarders barn tours. It's south Florida = crazy humidity. I mix some foundation with my sunscreen, but can't wear it on my forehead- it sweats off into my eyes. Please don't think it's a vanity issue, but I do feel much more confident wearing it. Before I read every label @ Walgreens, anyone have something that works for them?
I have rosacea, so I wear Clinique's Redness Solutions line. I use the primer (green tinted to cover the redness and any blemishes) and foundation. Won't sweat off and you can't honestly tell in wearing makeup.

The more you can do without make up the better so avoid whenever you can and always be sure to really cleanse well every night
I have really sensitive skin and find that Body Shop products work best for me - not the cheapest but they never bring me out in nasty eczema patches like a lot of others do
I almost never wear foundation, but when I do, it's Bare Minerals over a primer.
And there's nothing wrong with feeling more confident with make up. We call it warpaint for a reason.
I too use clinique. Thier liquid foundation (when I get home I'll get you the name) contains an SPF anyway so no need to mix it and it doesnt come off in hats.
I wear makeup at shows so that I dont scare little children! Keep it subtle and you will be fine
I believe mine is Maybelline. It's great and doesn't rub off or sweat off for me. I use the liquid, then dab over it with powder and use chapstick as eye shadow primer.
I never thought of chapstick !! Does it dry after eye shadow ?? I'm going to try asap-(soon as i find them- stuff "vaporizes" in my house !!.) Thanks !!
Are you looking for powder or liquid foundation?
Estee Lauder's "Double Wear" liquid foundation is extremely long lasting. It's pricey compared to drugstore makeup, but I would say it's your best bet! If you go to an Estee Lauder counter, they can make up a free sample for you. This allows you to take it home and try it for a couple days. In fact, most makeup counters do this if you ask, as well as some stores (like Sephora).
As a cheaper alternative, Covergirls Outlast foundation is pretty long wearing, matte, and good coverage. So is Revlon's Colorstay foundation.
Powder foundation might be a better fit, but sometimes you don't get as much coverage. I can't think of a drugstore powder foundation that has good coverage, although they may exist. If you pay a little more, Bare Minerals is good, as well as Laura Mercier mineral powder. Estee Lauder has a Double Wear powder, but I haven't tried it.
You can also try using a primer before you put your foundation on to help it last longer. A popular high end on is Smashbox Photo Finish primer. You can also use Monistat chafing gel. Sounds weird, but it's cheap and works the same :)
Another option is 'setting' your liquid foundation and/or sunscreen with powder. If you already have the coverage you want with a liquid foundation, something cheap and shear like Rimmel's Stay Matte powder would work great.
I'd be careful putting lip balm on your eyelids. Your skin is extremely thin there, and it may cause irritation to your eyes. If you want eyelid primer, there are some made specifically for that. Urban Decay's Primer Potion is a popular one. Elf even makes one for $1, but I'm not sure if it's any good. Personally I just use my face primer on my eyelids as well, and it works good enough for me. But hey, if chapstick works, I won't say anything ;)
I would recommend going to a store like Sephora and asking for recommendations based on your skin issues. In my experience, most of the employees there are pretty passionate and knowledgeable about cosmetics.
