Can you ride a horse across the country?
Hello, Can you ride a horse across the country? That was the question my friend Patrick Tyre asked.

At the age 36, Patrick Tyre was a successful general contractor who felt like something was missing in his life. In 1993, he decided to take a chance, do something totally different, and ride a horse across the country. On his ride from Delaware to Texas, he was inspired to write beautiful poetry about the people he met and places he visited. Today at age 54, he is still haunted by the desire to complete his ride from Texas to California and to again feel that inspiration. At age 39, Kelly Howard operates a large horse farm. She loves teaching lessons to children and working with her horses, but she also feels as if something is missing. When Patrick comes to Kelly's farm to purchase a horse, two diverse worlds collide, and an amazing friendship begins. But he's been agonizing for months over a secret past he is afraid to tell her about. When he finally reveals it all to her, will Patrick be able to let go of that last blade of grass holding him to that past and help both of them find what has been missing in their lives?
The Last Blade of Grass is available at Kindle and Nook and in book format under Kelly Howard or The Last Blade. It is the inspirational story of letting go of what ever it is that holds you back from following your dream...
Patrick did indeed finish his ride from Texas to California and you can read about that adventure Bucky's Adventures and Bucky his rescued Arabian horse is writing his own story about the ride which will be available in the fall.
Patrick did learn something, it is almost impossible to ride a horse across the country mile for mile!!! We have dissected our country so much that it is a challenge to find places to ride as you cross certain areas!!!
Patrick and Bucky will be heading north in June on the Pacific Crest Trail and then will start heading back east!!!
