Is your pony on concentrate feeds? If he is then there could be a slight imbalance in mineral content which causes the dry skin. If he is on grass then you may want to consider adding a few extra supplements to get rid of it for example oil (sunflower) is good at improving coat condition. You may also want to review how you keep your pony. For example, if he is subjected to too much sun then this could cause his skin to dry out.

I give BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds,) they have omega fatty acids and wow does it work with coat, mane and tail conditioning. Christy had dandruff too, but no more. :D

I give 1/2 cup once a day. She absolutely loves them. Also helps with sand clearing.

is it scurf or dandruff?

Is it a fungus? Or dry skin?

I suggest either: Mane and Tail Anti-fungal shampoo, diluted listerine, or Shapley's MTG.
