Can the link from a french link bit pinch the tongue?

I was interested in this bit, but I am worried that there is so much space between the link holes and the bars connecting to them. Could that pinch the horses tongue?

I've never heard of it happening, but it LOOKS like it could happen...

Never had it happen with my French link and the holes look like the are bigger than the ones in that bit.

Never in my experience. And my horse plays with the link constantly when he's not "concentrating" so if it was going to pinch him, it would have. ;)

yes it can. place the bit in the centre of your palm and fold your fingers over it.... then twist the bit rings.

it might pinch you and it might not. the picture you are showing with the lozenge shape in the middle is probably not going to pinch, some of the flatter links can pinch.

my pony will not tolerate the french link , which is unusual and leaves me stumped because it is my favourite bit of all time......
