English saddle for a long legged rider?

I love my saddle, and I got it for a great price. It is a Stubben Roxanne AP, and can sell for about $1400 right now - I got it for $400! Unfortunately, my instructor and I have decided it is just a little small for my long legs. I am just about to hit the small knee block on it at the top. I have no reason to be in a big hurry, but of course I just want to find an amazing saddle and sell my old one...

I am 5'9, with most of that being my legs. Since I bought both of my saddles with Candy, I am not sure of what size she is, but she seems to fit in my Wintec 250 that is a medium wide. I have only set it on her, haven't ridden her in it. Because I have that Wintec AP, I would like to find (and hopefully test ride in to make sure I like it) a saddle to buy, sell my Stubben, and then buy that saddle since I cant really throw around $1400 unsure if I will actually be getting that amount for my Stubben. I am a seat size of 17 or so inches, but 17.5 would probably be fine also.

So first, do you think I could sell my saddle for about $1400? This is it brand new at $2,500

And this is my saddle. It gets visible brown rubs if you don't condition it every one or two rides- and even then you can see in the photos it gets a little weird looking. There are a few scuff marks on the cantle, but other than that it is pretty impeccible. Most of the used Stubben Roxannes I am seeing are selling for about $1400 in slightly worse condition than mine

And second, do you have any recommendations for a saddle for long legged riders? No more than $1300 please!

Also, any opinions on these saddles?

This one doesn't come with a forward flap option but has a long flap option, and it looks pretty forward flapped to me.

And also this one, which it says is cut for a longer leg.

I am really liking this one. But... no test ride.

Maybe I can stretch my budget for this one... !

These guys are from Ireland. The saddles have really forward flaps (especially the Dublin Jumper), are stuffed with wool, have curved pannels (similar to Stubben), and are reasonably priced (even with shipping)!

Thanks! Are there any American stores that sell Berney saddles?

Unfortunately no. You can find some used ones for sale around here though!

Thanks for your help!

I am going to get the M. Toulouse Premia for a test ride. Unfortunately it only comes in a normal flap (not long) and only in a medium tree, but it should at least give me an idea of whether it should work.

Good luck!

I thought the Stubben Roxanne was more towards jumping saddle than A/P? I'm 5'9" and leggy. I rode in someone's Pessoa jumping saddle a couple weeks ago and it fit me beautifully. I don't know if it was a 17" or 17.5", and I don't know exactly which model it was, but it sure was nice.

There are two Stubben Roxannes, one with a very forward flap (jumping, called an S) and one is an AP (called VSS) . The new jumping one is out of my price range.

the perfect saddle

You could go to this website, My beautiful online saddle and tack store., that sells custom made saddle sizes for hard to fit horses and riders. They give a week long trial period and you can send it back if it doesn't fit with no restocking fee, as long as the saddle is clean, undamaged and that it has no abrasion on the flaps. You can send them a wither tracing to make sure they send you the right size/sizes for you and your horse. There is information on site about their trial policy and how to make a wither tracing.

Good luck on finding a good fitting saddle! :)
