Your favorite saddle for everyday use?

What do you like to ride or train in at home? Favorite brand/maker, style, features?

I'm contemplating an upgrade. Will be starting my 2 yr old later this year and want a good quality, well balanced saddle that will last. My Silver Royal with suede equitation seat has been a loyal partner since 1994, but the saddle I bought with teenage babysitting money isn't necessarily what I want today.

Just a thought, if you plan of keeping this horse for a while the saddle you buy to start the horse may not fit in a year or two. Because the horse is still growing, just something to think about

I have been riding in a Circle Y Equitation saddle. It's comfy, and works greats for training WP for us.

I bought the same saddle (used) for my everyday western riding, I had a Circle Y show saddle before and it was comfy, so I imagine the equitation one will be as well. For english, I used my new saddle, Collegiate Senior, both for everyday & show.

I think this week I am going to finally try out our new Circle Y show saddle. I am pumped! I've had it two months, and Walter has been cleared for light riding now. :D I have an old Stubben Sigfried(?) for english as well.

I ride in a regular Circle Y Equitation Saddle, and it's amazing quality and comfortable for both me and my horse. They are on the pricier side but will last you forever. The current saddle I have came with my horse and is in excellent condition and has been riden in for oh like 8 years so far? And is still in aamzing condition

The newer Circle Y's are not good saddles, and resale value on a Circle Y is awful.

I would recommend looking for a used Rocking R or Wenger.

Hmm, I've never heard of Rocking R or Wenger!

Unfortunately, it's proving difficult to find anything other than barrel, roping, or ranch saddles in my area.

I bought a new Circle Y flex 2 saddle last year. First new saddle I ever ordered in 40 years. Ordered it with the options I wanted. Everyone has an opinion, but this is an excellent saddle. Fits me and my gelding very well. And with the cinching options, you can vary its position to suit your horse. Contrary to above opinion - it's the best. Very comfortable, and light weight.

My barrel saddle.
Its an RS Custom, but an older model. The new ones arent made as good.

I would use my Master Canada rope saddle for EVERYTHING if it wasnt so **** heavy!!!
