anyone heard of candyman saddles?
My trainer has a person at the barn selling one for 300$ and she says her's has lasted 20 years, with the last 5 being used for lessons. So I'm guessing it's a good quality saddle, or hoping at least.

From what she told me, a man they called the "Candyman" would go around the competition grounds in his golf cart, watching the competitions and giving candy away/eating them, and eventually he started ordering saddles/bridles from England and selling them in Canada. He'd put his own name on it though: "candyman". I think she said they were made by Jeffrey's though... not sure. ANyhow, all I know is that it's made by a saddler in England.

I'll be trying the saddle out next week to see if it fits the school horse I ride and if it puts me in a good position (and if it's comfy), but anyone familiar with them? Heard of them? Had one maybe? I'd just like to see if I can get more positive feedback/interesting stories about them.

Thanks :D

they were around on the a circuit h/j in ontario in the early 90's. I don't remember riding in one, seem to remember them appearing to be good quality, the ones I rmember were close contact, minmal knee rolls, flattish seat, no thigh block type.
I believe he brought the horses apples too.
