This is my chestnut now...
Last year I posted a thread on my chestnut who had been born normal chestnut looking, then shed out very dark as a yearling.
Here he is now rising 2. Tell me he's not a weird looking colour!
Are liver chestnuts normally like this? I thought they were a bit more dark red and less...brown.
(sorry for poor quality of this pic)
Liver chestnut with flaxen. He could still change he is still young. But like all colors they come in different shades.

Any liver chestnut i knew was always a chocolaty color, not red. Yours appears to be a liver chestnut for sure, again, with flaxen
Thank you for comments. He's much darker than his parents who were chestnut and every change of season he just goes dark again.
I'd be surprised if he was actually flaxen because neither parent is flaxen.
Probably just sun bleaching/foal flaxen.
What a beauty! Any rocky mountain in him?
Thank you. He's arab tb x, no RM.
