Sudden Lameness

hello everyone. unfortunately, one of our horses suddenly became lame for almost no apparent reason. he's had problems in the past, i forgot what he was diagnosed with, although up until this problem arose, he has been fine, having been worked on a regular basis.

some of his symptoms include:

inability to walk on 1 of his feet, slight quivering during feeding

we're hoping it's an internal abcess that we can't see, although our ferrier was here yesterday and saw no problems. i wish i could be more detailed in my account but it's mainly my grandmother who is involved in the horses and i'm just trying to help diagnose the problem.

thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Could be anything. If he doesn't get better in the next couple of days, I'd call the vet.

could it be a Possible Stone Brusing?

Do you know where the lameness is accuring from?

You say that he has had problems in the past - does this happen to occur around spring and/or autumn? If it is recurrent then it could be laminitis... it could be any measure of other things mind such as a splint in an unfortunate place or an old injury but if it is laminitis then you want to be taking very careful measure of what you do. I would have thought though saying that that a farrier would be able to notice that - is it just a limp or does he seem to be adopting a strange stance?
