OMG! Horse w/chair stuck over his head...

Yup, it happened! As we were finishing up breakfast yesterday morning (Dec 6), there is a furious pounding on our door. It's my behind me neighbor. She says, "Come help quick, Eric's horse has a chair on its head!" I thought, wait, did I just hear that right or did my coffee just not kick in yet? My husband was dressed, so he ran outside. I ran back to the bedroom to pull on some clothes. He sticks his head in and yells, "BRING THE CAMERA!"

I go outside and look in my other neighbor's pasture, and this is what I see...

That's Eric trying to catch poor Cinnabar! And yup, that's one of those old metal outdoor chairs, on his head... Eric just feeds these guys, he really doesn't know the first thing about horses. They're his wife's horses and she's off shopping. The horses know me pretty well though, I sneak them carrots over the fence all the time, http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/ima...ilies/cool.gif.

So, as soon as Raymond and I hop the fence, Cinnabar winnys at us, and makes a b-line straight for us!

"Hooray! I'm SAVED! Please HELP!!"

Now, Cinnabar is head/ear shy, we think from abusive previous owners. So, it takes a bit of coaxing (and some oats) to get a halter on him and convince him that we won't hurt his ears. Once we do, I got his head lowered and Raymond (my DH) was able to slide the chair off his head without incident.

I just thought you all would get a kick out of this one. I know I won't forget it! lol

that is too funny! i'm glad yall got to him before he got hurt. there once was a pony at my old stable that was a little too curious. he would get his head stuck in chairs. and he would even climb up on picnic tables! ill never forget one time we went out and found him with his nose stuck in a flower pot. he ended up shaking it and flinging it off his nose 5ft away and it shattered then he ran away in a fit of joy. horses can be soo funny !

Their pasture is really clean (as you can see from the photos). I'm guessing they store extra stuff in the barn. Their other horse is a houdini and knows how to open the stalls, so mister roany pony must have gotten in where he shouldn't have been, looking for goodies (they hadn't fed breakfast yet).
