Since its coming winter and holidays are coming up I've decided to buy some candy cane bran mash for chance I thought it would be a nice warm treat!!
But it says put 3 1/2 cups in the bag.... but I dont want to use the WHOLE bag at once....
Could I just take the amount of mash I want into a feed bucket and pour enough warm water in to make it moist????
This is what im interested in if your not sure Bran Mash - Candy Cane Recipe from SmartPak Equine
Hope to get answers ASAP! :D
You do not have to feed the whole thing at once but in order to get the full nutritional benefit of it you should feed the whole bag at once. If you want to add it as a small treat just mix a small amount of it out of the bag with water, soak, and then feed it. Either way it is not going to hurt them.
yeah im just looking at it as a warm winter treat before I leave.
I would not feed large amounts of this or feed it regularly. Bran is actually way out of whack in the calcium-phosphorus-ratio and can lead to problems if fed in large amounts or regularly.
I would just add a small amount if you want to use it at all. Otherwise, I would just pick up some peppermint treats and drop them in his feed or even add them and a bit of water to feed.
