What does "cup" mean?
Hello. I'm from Russia. My native language is russian.
Sorry about stupid question....
Since we dont have such huge amount of books and researches about equine in our country we have to read them in english.
There is a lot of information about equine nutrition, but there always 'cup' is used as a measure. So what does 'cup' mean? What is the volume of this 'cup'?
8 ounces is one cup
When talking liquids 1 cup = 8 oz = 237 mL. Not sure if that is helpful or not. Then when it comes to dry matter - roughly it is the amount of dry matter that would fit in a container that can fit 8 oz of liquid, or roughly 16 tablespoons. I'm really not sure how else to convert it to a measurement you would know.
A cup means a kitchen measuring cup for baking or cooking.
These measuring cups have markings on them to tell us how much flour, sugar, water, milk, etc. to put in a bowl to make something.
Those measurements work very well to measure out horse feed:D
As "Cat" mentioned, one cup is about equal to 1/4 litre or 237 ml.
We have different styles of measuring cups but this picture should give you an idea of what we are talking about:D
Coffee cups, in the U.S. are not a good measuring device for horse feed as they come in many different sizes that could result in feeding the horse too much or not enough. Hope this helps:D
oh,thanks a lot :) it's all clear now
