Lacey helps with me MORE homework!

We had an assignment in my photo class to take a set of photos that evokes a feeling through the colors they used - "Emotional Color" is what the prof is calling it.

Anyway, I was having a super hard time thinking of something, anything, to do and decided that Lacey+the G's in "Golden Hour" was about as good as anything I was going to come up with.
I decided that we can just say I was trying evoke a "summery feeling"...right? hahaha

I liked how a lot of them came out so I'm showing you more than "made the cut." The first 5 are the ones that "won" and are gong to be printed, the second 5 are ones I like but didn't cut it. Except for the one where Lacey is grazing and centered-ish with the sun - I'm thinking about exchanging one of the first 5 for it... I'm not sure. It's a conundrum. For instance, the one with Lacey and the goats - not a HUGE fan of that one, but I adore the one of Hazel and I feel like I can't really call it a "set" if all the photos feature Lacey and then BAM, out of no where, a goat....even if the lighting and such is the same, I feel like "introducing" the goats initially keeps that lazy summer feeling.
Huh, I don't know. Feel free to share if you have an opinion!!

First "made the cut" five:

Second five:

This one isn't really a part of anything here but I thought it was adorable: Atti and Hazel were just hanging out in the midst of the deer herd. They were all grazing together quite happily. :D

Thanks for looking!!

Woman if you don't become a photographer you are crazy. You have a natural eye for light that many people cannot achieve. And you're not even using an über expensive camera.
The children look lovely!!

On the first one, can you somehow remove the giant appendage in the right going into the sky? I was very distracted trying to figure out What The Heck it was.

Love all the pictures! Love the light! Love the babies and the tennis ball horn caps!

They're all good pictures - I was particularly attracted to these ones (if that helps at all): First batch No. 2 and No. 3; Second batch No. 1 and No. 4.

Haha thanks cakemom, you are too kind! :)

Wow, thanks aldebono! I hadn't even thought of that as being distracting, since I see it everyday, but you are so right! It's a weird tree that Lacey's weird elitist neighbors have. But yes, I will see what I can do!

Thanks Chevaux! That is helpful! :)

Oh if you get the "tree" removed, lets get an update! I think the picture will just flow left to right and look amazing!

I loooooove the 3rd and the 2nd last picture. Very nice!!

Wallaby 05-10-2013 07:49 PM

Well, aldebono, you forced me to actually mess around with Photoshop and I did it! :)

Here it is, sans tree. It seems kind of empty to me without the tree...but is that good or bad? I can't decide. I might ditch this one in favor of the 2nd to last picture, I printed them both..but we'll see!

Good thinking. :)

Thanks ponypile! Those are my two main favorites as well.

Those pictures...they're amazing! O.O

I think if you're going to remove the tree on that picture you should crop it on that edge, about half way between where the edge is now and the horse's nose. To help remove some of the "empty" space and keep the weight balanced. (just my opinion)
