Miserable horsey people.
I know we all know of a few people out there that can be bitter and miserable, and if there is a nasty word that can be said - they will say it, either directly or indirectly to you. In the past I've always taken the higher road and either ignored them or been OVERLY polite with the thought maybe then they would be a bit more politer themselves.
But over the last two weeks, I've had some miserable people be rather rude to me and I've kept my tongue - but I'm thinking, I would feel great if I just said, Hey who put the stick up your butt???
Does everyone here take the high road??
I have found that ignoring them can be a double edged sword.
Option 1)......Ignoring often means to them...you don't care so we can continue.
Option 20.....Going after them provides them with the fuel they want.
I tend to ignore. I am more likely to stand up and say something if another person is rude to someone else, though. I was always mad at the bullies in HS and always spoke my piece to them. Now, I don't find as much drama in life, but if the situation arises, I stick up for the attackee.
I would rather tell the person straight up what's going on. But then again, it depends on the person! Sometimes I just ignore (literaly don't turn around when they start going ON and ON and ON...)
I tend to ignore them up until they become right up close and personal to me or my horse then I find I WILL say something that won't make them make a remark again. It's ridiculous the amount of horse owners who lack manners and it seems the ones that do are the ones with money who think they can make up their own rules.
Do they say things to you just to piss you off? or are they like that to everyone? If one day they really push that button, tell them to put a sock in it and get a life and quite being so misserable, it's not your fault they're un happy people. Which is why they are bitching in the first place.
I used to take the higher road and try to turn the other cheek but now, I tell everyone just how I feel and what I am thinking. Some people call me hateful but those are the ones who can't say anything nice anyway so I don't worry about them. It is a lot easier for me because then people know exactly where I stand on things. I don't like the feeling of being walked on and that is how I feel when I hold my tongue. Just don't lower yourself to their level. You can be tactful and blunt at the same time.
Here here ... I tend to smile and say things that come out like sugar LOL... things Like: It's great to have a wonderful horses that is calm and cool and people friendly, it's great to have my son WANT to do stuff with me and rides because he enjoys it and he loves his horse that is HIS to keep for however long HE wants him...
Yep, I know someone like that, she is so negative about everything, i really don't get why she bothers going to show because she never seems to enjoy them. Funnily enough I am actually trying to get on with her, I don't have all that many friends into horses and I really don't want to be on her bad side, that could be very scary.
Lizzie please be careful these people will suck you dry and make you hate going to shows and you know what they say
birds of a feather...
