Hoof angles help please!
Should the angles of the bones in the hoof capsule ideally be 10% less than the angle of the hoof wall? It's a true/false question in an equine standard I'm doing at school & I can't find out what they should ideally be. I kinda thought that the angle between the 2nd and 3rd phalanx (short pastern bone & pedal/coffin bone) and the outer hoof wall should be 0? Any help appreciated :)
Not sure I get exactly what you're asking, but the phalanges should line up & the dorsal wall should be parallel with the dorsal surface of P3, so I'm thinking 'false' & your '0' degrees is right.
Okay I'll go with that and see how it works out :) Thanks heaps!
