Hi, I have a mare who I was told could be pregnant, I have had her for aprox 7 months and I am new to horses and didn't really think of this being possible. I had a friend over who is familar with horses and she said that she maybe in foal. Since then I have taken notice to her more carefully. I did call my vet and he ask what were her symptoms.. I told him she has gained weight and has become a bit stand offish, and her teats are squirting a cloudy white liquid, he said it sounds as if she is , because horses don't have milky substance unless in foal.. Alot of help he was.. anyways I have reserched alot on line and have earned alot.. I have taken some pics of areas on her to ask if this is the way an in foal mare should look..
Welcome to the forum!
It is impossible for anyone on an internet forum to tell whether your mare is pg or not. If you want to know for certain, have a vet out to palpate her. It would be good to know one way or the other so you can prepare and adjust feed accordingly.
Let us know!
Thanks , I am going to call him back this week and ask him to him to come out..
You aren't the first person to get a BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free). I just learned that acronym, so was looking for a chance to use it!
Best thing to do is get the vet out to make an actual examination, so you will KNOW, not guess, if she is pregnant or not.
