Birthday Party Ideas

So, Seth will be turning 4 on Jan 12th. I have been searching for ideas as to what to do for this Birthday. GAH!!!!!

I'd like something not at my home as I dont want to have to clean before or after the party, and I have family that NEVER come to my house anyway, so.
I'd like something that would be fun for kids of various ages.

And something that isnt $30/per child.

I have called around to hotels in my area thinking a pool party would be fun, the holiday in that just has an ordinary pool wants 169.99 for a pool side suite, and I would have to buy my food there.

Another hotel that I called that has a water park has a limit as to how many people I can invite for fire safety reasons, and I can not reserve a conference room.

Yet ANOTHER hotel I called only holds birthday parties like these on Sundays. bleh.

I called a pizza place here and that is a possibility, but it's $10/per child and I have a feeling it's kind of a skeezy place.

I called The House of Bounce, which is kind of like an indoor inflatable playground, and they want $175 for 14 people, and I have to buy my food there.

I'd really like to have my birthday party at the barn I ride at, as they do that kind of thing there, but they want $30/per child, not to mention the cost of decorations, heater rental and food.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to think of something in the near future, as I like to get invites out and R.S.V.P's back in a timely fashion.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ETA: The amount of people could vary anywhere from 10-20 ppl, so that puts a bit of a damper on things.

Sorry Moxie, I'm no help...We usually have our parties at home. Well that and for Eli's 4th party......I kinda decided that he wouldn't really remember it anyways......hehehehe......I've saved the cool parties for when they get a bit older but I know that your situation is different than mine....I have teeney-boppers and munchkins.

What about hiring a maid to clean for you before the party....That's gotta be cheaper than the rentals you've looked into.....Then you only have the after party clean up and you could do everything in disposable stuff.....Throw everything away and vaccume a bit and bada-bing....done! :D

Well actually I found a stable that does parties for MUCH MUCH cheaper than the one I ride at 125/for 6 riders and 10 dollars for an additional riders. So, I have a call into them to see if they have an indoor heated arena. Who knows, If I like it, I might switch there myself!

Do you have a roller skating rink close by? I've never done a party there myself, but our girls have been invited to several and they're always a big hit for all ages.

No roller skating in our area, but there are ice skating rinks, but I'd be afraid of Seth not being balanced enough to try it, yet.
