USB Wireless Adapters - Help Please
We have a desktop computer (Windows 7 Home Premium) that is not wifi ready. I am considering getting a USB wireless adapter. Does anyone have any experience with these? What is the best brand? Do some receive the router signal better than others?

I find USB wireless adapters to be great! More so, if it comes with a cord where you can move the antenna to get better reception. With my desktop computer, I find if the antenna is next to the case the reception is OK... but if I put the antenna on top it's perfect. http://www.dlink.com/ca/en/home-solu...-n-usb-adapter
The one above is what I use, but anything by Dlink or Linksys or Netgear will be good. You're also looking for Wireless N which is the new standard. It has better range and speeds, but your router has to support it otherwise it downgrades to a slower standard (A/B/G) which is OK too. :)

Thanks, Jinx! Good advice on the "N". That helped make the research a little less confusing.

It's usually best to stick with the same brand adapter/router. You can mix brands, but if you run into trouble and they're the same brand, their tech support will be far more helpful.
