Arabian Native Costume?

Hey guys I've been really interested in doing some native costume classes with my Arabian maybe in the future but I've got some questions about if he would be suitable for it. Laddy, my Arabian, I've been working in a more dressage stretchy frame and from what I've seen a lot of the horses in those classes are ridden saddle seat. Is him not being ridden saddle seat an issue for this type of class? I cant find it anywhere that the horses have to be ridden in any certain discipline to be eligible for the class but to place in this type of class is it necessary to have your horse in a saddle seat type frame? I found these sites that were helpful.

They used to be ridden in the type of saddle that they competed in most(years ago) but these days they all are high headed saddleseat horses, so I guess that is what the judges are placing.

I LOVE costume, and always wanted one. Oh well....next life!!!

All of the Native Costume horses I know are saddle seat horses. They are much higher energy, have lots of knee action and hold their heads high. I'm sure you could transition your horse into it and still keep a nice dressage horse in him too. My horse does dressage and barrel racing lol! I will probably get to show costume with in this summer, and I'm super excited?
