need some help from you pro-fesh-eeh-nal picture taker people

So here's the deal..

My 21st day is in like 8 days and I'm getting a camera....

I did photography in his...like forever ago so I don't remember alot but I do enjoy taking all sorts of pics, landscape, animal etc.

So my question is what is your opinion on the best camera for me to get???

Any help/advice is much appreciated

My mom has a cannon rebel and I use it all the time. I absolutely love it! Its affordable and you can get different lenses for it. :)

Canon and Nikon are both excellent brands.

Oh goodness I don't think I could handle extra lenses right now lol

But I am thinking canon is the way to go. Hmmmm

I have a Nikon D5100 and I absolutely love it.

Just noticed and for the record it was supposed to be 21st Bday not 21st day lol

Oh gosh well I'll definitely be looking at the canons but I may check out the Nikon's people list

Ditto kaylee's post above, LOVE my D5100!
I've taken some amazing pictures with it, and I've done a photoshoot with it that turned out AMAZING.
I don't like it for indoor pictures though..if it's outside it's the best camera I've used though..Aside from the pictures my friend's mum takes with her $5000 Canon with a lens that cost almost $2000. O.O

I have no suggestions but I would highly recommend taking a look at DPReview, it's pretty much THE source to go to for camera reviews and buying guides which might help you make an educated decision on what model is better than the next one if you're considering a few:

http://www.dpreview.com/

Every camera imaginable has been reviewed and they show sample images, plus all kinds of technical data.

Canon Rebel. I'll PM you a link to my portfolio so you can see the type of pictures it takes.
