Hi, from Normandie France
I am so pleased that I have found his site!:D
Last November I bought a quarter horse who has just turned 3 yrs. Her previous owner was unwell and I had lost my horse suddenly at 13 yrs old. I wasnt going to get another horse until this year and as I am of a certain age, it was going to be a mature horse. All I want to do is hack out on a safe, reliable neddie!! Unfortunaely or fortunately, I was told of Lucy's owners illness and thought 'what the heck'. I picked her up in November and she went straight to an establishment that produces well schooled western horses. She came home to me on the 1st May.
My daughter who lives here in France, with her partner and two children, works for an International Show Jumping Yard and so we have always had and been interested in horses, though I didn't start riding until I as 40!
I had a gorgeous mare Gemma, when we lived in England and she was coming with us to France. We moved over in 2002. Unhappily just before she was due to be shipped over, she got colic and died..............
I wasn't going to get another horse but after being here for several years bought a Cob Normand which turned out to be a Bretton! They are huge:lol: I then saw Kadum, who was off the track and I bought him. He was soo good. Sadly he had a heart atack and died last July.
Am really looking forward to getting to know you all and receiving your invaluable advice - please:-)
A Breton! I bet you can count their numbers in the US on one hand.
Are they raced in draught with stoneboats? Don't even know the correct name for that. I know it's popular with Percherons in Japan. Pretty silly IMO.
Welcome to the forum
