Rumor or Fact?
Ok so my friend says that stallions are like bulls in the fact that if a woman is on her period she cannot go near them or they charge and go crazy? I'm not inclined to believe him so I figured I could get some oppinions. Thanks

Old wives tale probably made up by a man.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard!

belgianlover 12-31-2008 11:54 PM

Thanks I didnt think it was true.

My father used to tell me the same thing, I can say with complete honesty that in 29 years of handling bulls, stallions, boars, and any other type of male animal none go crazy during that time. And if they did girls get cranky and WILL put them in their places!

The only creatures that have a chance of going nuts when a girl is on her period is the girl.

I have heard that before. Someone that I knew swore by that. I was told it was the pheremones we emit that trigger the stud to react, however if you look at human phisiology the period is not the time that a woman emits the most pheremones it is when your are ovulating which is not during your period. I think I would need more scientific proof before I would believe that.

Wow, that's odd. Never heard of that either...even if I did, I probably wouldn't believe that. I think that's just a rumor.

What about the poor surrounding men?

I think the only thing to think about is horses sense of smell is much more powerful than ours and some animals are freaked out by the smell of blood. I don't think it has anything to do with the pheromones or anything like that. Some animals will get riled up around that time and some won't.
