uncatchable horse?

My friend can't catch her horse. Its in a huge pasture, at least four or five acres. And with three other horses, help?!?!

You need to get her in to a smaller area and go from there. You need to chase her. Make her run. Make her run for a few minuets. Then stop. The minuet she looks at you turn your back on her. Let think about it. Turn around and go and try to get her. Repeat if she moves.

The same principle applies. You make her keep moving until she's approaching. Push her out of her spot, turn away. It will probably take a while, but it will eventually work.

okay, thanks.

Keep her moving, best to use a 4 wheeler, unless you are young and nimble. And don't run her unless she wants to run.

Slow and steady here, just keep her moving. And if she stops, then go up slowly to her shoulder and slide lead rope around neck. If she moves off?

Make her move again.

Get some people to come and help you. They don't have to be horse people either. Tell them to spread out and the plan is to corner all (or at least the horse you want) in order to catch him. If the horses get near you, get big and wave your arms to try and stop them. In a big pasture with more horses it will be easier with more people. If they keep escaping and running, make them run. They wanted to run anyways, so might at well get them running - but still try to corner them. Once the horse(s) are cornered, one person slowly walk up to the horses. Kick some rocks, look around, stop, pick something up, walk backwards towards them, sit down, anything to let the horses know that you aren't going to harm them and you are their friends. Then once you touch the horse or put a rope around his neck, it's all over and you won!
Just try something like that. Our horses used to run all the time, we did this procedure with just two of us and it worked out really well. It might take some time, but once one is caught, put them in a smaller area maybe.
If he still runs, just keep doing this.

Catch the other three horses and take them somewhere smaller. Let the other horse follow. When in an enclosed area remove the other three and catch the one remaining. If she will not be caught then do the advance and retreat making her move if she is being difficult.
