- - Ingrown hair?

I beleive my horse has an ingrown hair on his back under the back of the saddle. He has had it for about 3 months now. It has recently become uncomfotable for him (I could tell when he kicked the wall when I asked for a canter the other day) and I have stopped riding him until t is better. It is over an inch in diameter and about 1/2 an inch high. I have called the vet and he is coming out tomorrow to check it out. In the mean time I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how it was resolved?

Hmmm, 3 months seems quite a long time for just an in grown hair? I'll be interested in what the vet says. Is it hard or pus? I'd assume it would need to be lanced.

The spot is very hard. No sign of anywhere that it might burst. So the vet injected it with Depro Medrol. He thinks this will bring it down fairly quickley. I certainly hope so.

What did he think it was? Poor pony, hope he feels better soon.
