Any guesses on what's going on here?

That looks like some kinda skin fungus.. id like to know for sure too!

Nokotaheaven 06-01-2013 08:45 PM

Haha yeah. Although, I haven't heard of any cases of fungus up here... The closest I've heard of is stuff like thrush and rain rot :/

lilruffian 06-02-2013 07:14 PM

She could be recovering from rain rot, though it's hard to tell much from those photos.

Nokotaheaven 06-02-2013 10:58 PM

Hmm maybe

Could be bite marks or scrapes from trees. Also looks like she might still be shedding her winter coat or is sweaty.

Hmm what about maybe she's missing something in her diet?

toto 06-04-2013 12:00 AM

Yeah- could be mineral or some kind of lack in nutrient somewhere.. she is kinda rough lookin- id like to see what a culture sample reads!

Just a thought, my mare gets random "roan" or different color spots all the time after shedding. Sadly this spring most disappeared except a large one on her belly. No they are not your standard bend or spots, or bird catcher spots.

Very well could be healing from something too, she is shedding off a really sun burnt coat, but I'm talking about the light colored spots.

The ad says "Uniquely coloured and marked," so I would guess birdcatcher spots or something similar.
