We've switched her feed, and she's lost some weight. I feel she looks healthier, but may be just a lil thin. What's y'all's opinion?

I think she's a little on the thin side. I don't like to see ribs on horses. Although many people will tell you its healthier to be a little under, then over, weight wise.

I think she looks good, possibly some muscling especially around the shoulder. I like mine on the lighter rather than heavier side not thin but not overweight.

We are working on muscling. She rides trails 2 miles almost daily on hill terrain. And works circles and patterns.

Thanks for the replys, as felt she could use a lil weight. Not much, but a lil.

I think she looks and acts healthier, just don't want her too thin. Her pole bending yesterday was greatly improved, which I contribute to her flexing better.

she looks thin and her coat looks rough - been wormed lately?

I think she looks good wouldn't want to put much weight on her better on the lean side.

I personally think she is a little on the thin side. Ribs should have enough of a covering that they should be easily felt, but not seen.

Is this picture from now? That worries me a little, she hasn't shed out and her ribs are showing a bit. Time for a fecal and if nothing shows up, then an equine dentist, something is happening where the nutrition you are giving her isn't being used properly. It reflects on her outward appearance.

I agree that she looks a bit ragged, but not what I would call thin. most horses these days are oveweight.

Better. Definitely not under weight. Have you ever had a bodyworker(chiro or such) check her out? Lumbar region looks a bit funny.
