WHAT WEIGHT SHOULD MY HORSE BE?
He is a TB dual reg ASH. He isn't very wide, but a athletic build. I do Eventing. He is quite easy to put wait on but what is the correct weight?
He is 5yo and 16.11/2hh well you could say 16.2hh?
aT THE MOMENT HE WEIGHS 550KG. But you can still see his ribs!
PLEASE HELP I AM STUCK IN THE MUD!!
IS THERE ANY CALCULATION I SHOULD FOLLOW??
I HAVE TRIED THOSE TAPES BUT THEY ARE WAY OFCOURSE!! WAY!!!
Are her ribs visible? Can you feel her ribs or is it difficult to do so? Can you see her hips easily?
It doesn't matter if the ribs can be a bit seen as in a slight change in light in different areas. When touching the ribs should be felt if you put on slight pressure; anymore or less and the horse can be either over or underweight. Also, a good way of checking is looking at his topline to see how visible his spine is - if it is easily visible as a clear bump without anything else being equal in height to it then your horse is probably underweight.
Yes his ribs are visible- he has a huge grass guts and his hips are fairly boney-easly felt. He has a heigh wether but? His back bone is almost covered-but once again easly felt. Ok i have never ever had a underweight horse!!  I feel real bad, someperson told me that he has to lose 100kg if he was going to be successful in eventing. Cause they have to be fit not fat. Hali is only 5yr and starting successfully. :D Because he is a TB (DUAL REG ASH) he should have a slim build? Well thats what i have been told.......   http://www.horseforum.com/userpix/12...rses_051_2.jpg
i HAVE ENCLOSED A PICTURE FOR YOUR JUDGMENT.
That photo is maybe 2weeks old. And he has only gained roughly 50kg since :P :P
Any way to get a picture from the side without a saddle on?
Yes he is defintally 5-6yo. We know the people who bred him and he was said to born 2001. Making him 6 in November. He didn't race at all, and he hasn't got a visible brand. There is a bit of a one but i can not make it out!! :? No his eye is black its just the flash that made it well a bluey white colour.
see picture below  !http://www.horseforum.com/userpix/12...rses_008_1.jpg
I am told he is a good weight, but is there any math way to find out? Any calculation?
Sorry Kristy i don't have a side veiw of him, but i will try and get one
He is a bloody stunner mate!! You have gota showjumper on your hand!! Whats his bloodlines? He look fine to me. For Showjumping a athletic build is best!!!

He is only starting- and placed 3rd at his first Combine Training last weekend. out of around 25 horses.
Look around the $10,000 mark, depends on his dressage/flatwork training!~
