Do you have another photo? Like a full body shot?

I can definatly see the arab. And I can see the egyptian however he may not be a straight egyptian. Maybe some Polish, just a bit? Do you know his sire and dam and his strain?
Is that him in your avi??

He looks like the old type desert arab to me.

I think he definitely looks Arab. He may not look like your typical Straight Egyptian Arabian which steriotypically look like this:

(Scapa, Paradise Arabians)

But there are plenty of Straight Egyptians out there that have less exotic features.

(AW Kamile, SE Arab Mare)
This mare does have a more defined "tea cup" chin, but other wise I think her features are very similar to Sam. Take note of the eye placement the the curvature of her face.

The exotic features are more desirable for halter shows, but an SE Arab with planer features is still just as much an SE as the rest, they just didn't get the pretty genes (I still think Sam is pretty).

And the pretty genes were something that breeders only started breeding for with the invention of showing and halter classes (especially halter classes!!). The traditional, working arabs of the egyptians and bedouins were very plain and stockier than the SE's you see in the show ring today. And all these pretty show ring arabs are the decendents of these traditional desert arabs.

This is a link to him on the AHSA website: AHS: Horse Details

On his original papers it says his strain is Ahkehailan Rodhan (not sure on spelling!!!)

He travels very much like an arab but everyone is surprised to learn that he is pure.

Well he definitely looks purebred Arabian to me. There are a lot of bloodlines out there and they all have different characteristics.
