Blue spot in the eye.

We just got a new girl...She has a blue spot in one of her eyes. I'm not too alarmed because my dog was born with the same blue spot in both of her eyes and is fine. The girl we got her from has had her 2 years and hasn't seen any progression in the spot. I plan to talk to the vet soon...we're happy with her no matter what, just wondering what everyone around here thinks. Thanks!

That's just a spot of blue that's caused by her pinto pattern (the same gene that causes the white on her face) and is nothing to worry about at all. Some horses get full blue eyes and some only get a partial...like your girl.

She's a cutie, congrats!

Thank you :)

She is smaller than I anticipated but so adorable. She (her previous name was maisy, but that will probably be changed) was former bucking stock and they decided she made a poor bucking horse so they had plans to kill her. A lady stepped in and took her and broke her but got pregnant and gave her to the gal I picked her up from...she hadn't been rode in two years because "new gal" didn't have the time. "New gal" swore up and down that you can go right up to her and catch her and the kids go in and brush her but when we got there to pick her up she basically left it up to my FiancÚ and his friend to catch her and put a halter and rope on her. Once we got her home my FiancÚ put a saddle on her with not much of a problem but when he got in the saddle she threw one jump, not even a buck and was fine :) She's unsure of the bit but with time and patience she should be a great little horse!
