What kind of shows can Kentucky Mountain Saddle horses do?
There's a 4 year old KMSH mare for sale I might look at in a few weeks, and if we get her I'm having her as a show horse. But the thing is,what kind of shows can they do,preferably western? Help!

You might want to look at the show & events section on the Kentucky Mountain Horse Association's website. You can get an idea of the kinds of classes and events available. Website is here:

I have a Kentucky mountain horse and I currently show in western trail, and saddleseat. saddleseat is an English eventing sport though. It's a lot of fun but you would have to train the horse to trot if you want to do western. You could also do gaming if you like speed events.

There are many shows in Kentucky with the KMSHA. Are you adult or youth as they are very heavily into the youth showing classes. I know they have several different class types available. Also a lot of people are now into western dressage. I would definitely go to their website and check out the showbills. I know there was a show just this weekend.
