How do you tell the age?

:DI've finally found a saddle that seems to fit my Arei girl! It's a Circle Y Equitation saddle in decent condition. I was wondering how you can tell or find out the age of this saddle.
I've included several photos to go upon.
Out of curiosity as well, what would be a fair price to pay for this specific saddle?
I think it's a great deal (Ill reveal the price Im paying after a few suggestions:wink:) and even more pleased that it fits both her and I what seems confortably. :-)

October 1997.

2845 is the model number. 1 is for the medium tree size. 55 is for the 15.5" seat size. 7 is for the Ultra Lite color. 1097 means it was made in October 1997. 01 is a unique number for this saddle.

Fair Price Guess: $700 - $800

It's 16 yrs old but looks to be in really good shape. Fleece looks good. I could see that saddle lasting you 15+ years.

WOW! Thank you so very much for all that great information! That helped tremendously! :-)
It does need some TLC but nothing a little elbow grease and leather conditioner can't do.
I'm getting it for the low price of $425! It was $450 when I first saw it at the tack store two weeks ago. I'm thinking I found a nice find with this one.

Thanks a ton again!

Sweet deal!!!

I was going to say if you're buying it from a buddy then $600 or so it probably a fair price. Getting it at $425 from a tack shop is excellent!

I'll bet you could ride it for 5 years and still sell it for a profit :D

Nice saddle! Circle Ys are my favorite. They last forever. I rode in a circle y my aunt had laying around for years until last year I bought my own circle y.
