Finally found my hubby a short stocky trail horse to ride with me. He is possibly the sweetest horse I have ever met and is so willing, albeit rusty and a bit green still. He came from the Warm Springs reservation in Oregon as a weanling and is hardship registered with ApHC. Haven't cleaned him up yet (just brought him home last night) or taken great pictures, but I snapped a few with the phone.
oh he is just awesome! i love everything about him...

What a doll-baby!! Congratulations!
He's very handsome!! I like the paint too.
Nice looking Appy-congratulations!
Wow! He is lovely! Sorry for been stupid but what colour appy do you call that? Love the coloured too :)
I like him - he looks like a good ol' boy.
Now that's a handsome app!
He reminds me a lot of an appy x percheron I know. He is handsome, but overweight. I love the Warm Springs area! So beautiful.
Thanks, all! He wasn't ridden for a year before we got him and he is already packing my novice husband around (I get on him first to work out any kinks).
@EquineBovine, he is a chestnut blanket appy with tons of varnish roan, I think (I am not 100% in appy colors!)
@TinyLiny, yes, I know he's fat, lol. We have him on a diet. I was very glad he's stout, since he is only 14HH and both my husband and I are 5'10". I also thought he may have some draft in him, and he very well may...the reservation rounded up all the weanlings and sold them, so no one knows his lineage.
