What tricks have you taught your horse?
I recently taught Sandie to "shake" (and am now teaching her ONLY to do it when I ASK not just when she wants a treat lol!! I don't need her striking anyone around the barn with her front legs!)

Here's a video of when she was first learning, she does it like a champ now!

What tricks have you taught your horse?? :-)

If I tap my horse behind his left front leg, he "bows" It's not perfect, but it stretches out his back

i taught my old horse to bow several years ago hes not perfect but does it well when he wants a treat

I taught my horse to also shake. BUT, unlike you, now she lifts her leg whenever she thinks that I have a treat. Not very smart, but cute! haha

I've taught my boy a lot of fun tricks and he's been taught the difference between doing the trick when he's asked and not all the time. We have horses that are trick trained and they'll start doing their tricks anytime someone walks by their stalls. It can be downright dangerous! We have one that always does the 'yes' head shake and will knock you upside the head if you aren't careful.

Solon shakes (especially good for the farrier!), smiles, rolls a ball back and forth to me, opens the gate (after I unlatch it).

i taught my horses, how to bow, shake, lay, sit, and stuff like that. but the most funniest thing i taught him is when he puts his head down i sit on his neck by his ears and i pull he lead up and he puts his head up and i slide down his neck, onto his back, its very fun....

That is so adorable! What a great thread. One of my old geldings I had started to teach to fetch. I think it would be a blast to teach Cobalt some tricks, he likes to do things that keep his mind going.

Let's hear more stories :D
