Which would make a better Barrel horses
I always thought of Quarter horses as being good barrel racers, but I also know that Arabs are good to!
Yes, I agree with barnrat. Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Arabians, Paints, any crossbreed. I'm sure almost any breed would be suitable for barrels, if they're trained properly. =D
I was talking to this girl once and she said that Quarter horses can get up to there highest speed faster then any other horse. so QH would be a wise choice, My Teacher did agree with the girl to. My teacher teaches Companion Animal Science.
Yeah, Quarter Horses would probably be the best if that is true. =] It'd definately come in handy for barrels.
Hence, their name.. quarter horse, quarter of a mile. They raced short distances versus long because of their incredible sprint.
I am starting to fill somewhat smart..... lol.
Quarter horses would be your best bet. But like they said, there are other breeds if they're trained right. Arabians have the speed for it. Keep in mind the cornering on the barrels is a big deal. LOL
