Helmet for large man

Does anyone have a recommendation for a trail riding helmet for a large man? Most helmets seem to be for small girls. I don't really worry about how it looks, just want to survive a fall on the trail! Thanks for any suggestions!

.

Just looking around:

IRH Brand shows sizes of S (6 - 6 7/8), M (7 - 7 ), L (7 3/8 - 7 5/8)

Tipperay Brand shows sizes of
S (6 1/2 - 6 5/8), M (6 3/4 - 6 7/8), L (7 - 7 1/8)

Troxel Brand shows sizes of
S (fits hat sizes up to 6 7/8) M (fits hat sizes 7- 7 1/4) L (fits hat sizes 7 1/4-7 1/2)

Ovation Brand shows sizes of
S/M (6 1/2-7)M/L (7 1/8-7 5/8)

Seems everyone has their own idea of what a large is ....lol...

Good luck with finding one you like and fits

My husband has a rather large melon and this helmet fits him with room to spare, it's got a dial adjustment, he loves it. Price is good as well....

what size hat do you wear ? Look at the IRH ultra lite trail, sorta shaped like a ball cap or batting helmet shape, I wear a 71/4 and medium fits me. not super expensive, bill stays on, no harness , or bands to break or mess with. Sets pretty low on your head.

I need 7 3/4 or 7/7/8. Thanks for the info, I'll check them all out!

I went with the Troxel Spirit GPS11 XL dial fit. 62.00 on Amazon delivered. It sits way low in front, covers the forehead well but not sure how glasses will fit. Seems like a good helmet. Hate to wear one but it saved me on a motor cycle once, walked away from a serious crash skinned up but a clear head!!

Good about Troxels (that's what I use anyway) is that you can adjust it. Good luck with your new one! (and I never found the helmet to be too hot to wear - Troxel has quite good ventilation :) ).

I also have a difficult time because it has to be the right size, but also fit the shape of your head. I have had XLs that didn't and finally bought a L Troxel Spirit that does. My head measures just over 7 1/2 and it fits pretty well. A bit snug, but I can deal with that since it has an adjustable back band. It looks big, but that is only because it is. :)

Good luck !
