What is your favorite exercise?
So I've found myself looking for more exercises to fix specific position problems when riding. I have all of my personal favorites, but what are some exercises that you've found to be particularly effective?
I shouldn't say it's my favorite but it's the most effective, posting without stirrups. Grunt work and I love when I can retrieve my irons....heaven!
Spiral in /spiral out. That can fix almost anything!
True Jinx, my horses could give a rat's behind if I ride stirrupless or not!
I agree, stirrup-less riding at all gates (including posting at the trot). I also like to practice the two point at all gait. I often do some sitting trot drills where I work without my hands. I don't know what your specific problems are, but I've some luck finding drills on YouTube to help with specific issues.
Out of the saddle, I look for gym work makes me a stronger rider - squats, triceps dips, planks, etc.
