Trying to match up
Well, I have a saddle that is handmade. It has rawhide on the back of the seat around the cantel and on the stirrups. I am trying to find a headstall and reins that would go with and compliment the saddle. Below is a picture of the saddle. Also is a couple of pictures of a headstall and reins that I found e-bay. Do you think these would go with each other? Or is there any other suggestions as to where I could look?
FYI, my mare is a buckskin, does rawhide go with this type of color?
Rawhide goes with everything!!! :D I think that the headstall and reins would look just fine with your saddle. You may want to oil them once you can actually have them next to the saddle, but all in all I'd say if you like it go for it.
The lacing on the browband may not show up all that much on the buckskin, I think it will be more subtle and really sharp.
I think the pictures of the headstalls you found goes good with the saddle.
i have a headstall almost exactly the same and i love it. i dont see why those two woudlnt go good together. i ilke yoru saddle...looks like it was built well.
im not sure what styles or colors your looking for but just from the colors i can see from the pictures this is what i found
Weaver Leather Plaited, V, and Knotted Browband Headstalls
the second one and the last one look good
Other Headstalls & Halters
I think the ones you found look fine with your saddle :D
What I am trying to do is try to match up with the color of the saddle and the rawhide details on the saddle.
Here is another bridle that I found
NicoleS, did you get yours off ebay too?
I like your second bridle a bit more
i like the second one you found way more!
