Homemade fly sprays?
125 Attachment(s)
Can anyone give me a good homemade fly spray recipe that you've used that works?! I read somewhere that someone mixes pine Sol in a concoction but I don't want anything like that. I know I've read Apple cider vinegar and so on but wanted to get more opinions :)

I use ACV and regular white vinegar mixed together. Works for me!

This one has been asked about a lot!
Here is the recipe I use. I even got a friend's family up here using it on his cows.
**Permethrin is the main ingredient in many flea and tick meds for dogs, and also for human tick prevention. It is extremely useful for ticks! My mare always gets them under her jaw and her udders, so I am sure to check and spray there every few days.
If there is no rain, it can last them a few days between sprays.
The recipe:

Fly Spray
(Amounts are to make 1 gallon)
2 oz 10% Permethrin/Pyrethrin
1 bottle Skin So Soft (16oz or larger)
White Vinegar
1) Put 2 oz Permethrin in gallon size bottle. (Big vinegar bottles work awesome for this)
2) Add full bottle of SSS.
3) Fill gallon bottle to halfway with white vinegar.
4) Finish up gallon bottle with water.
*** You may want to leave a bit of airspace at the top to be able to shake.
**** Shake before every use, and shake before pouring into spray bottle.
