Wintec Close Contact

So I ordered myself a Wintec Close Contact today because I was not overly happy with how my Crosby fit Montana. It comes with the gullet system so I can change it to fit him accordingly (and I wouldn't have to worry about buying yet another saddle)

So who has, or had a wintec and what are/were your opinions?

(I did do research on the saddle before buying it, I'm just curious to see what everyone here thinks)

Love them.
I have 3, not a close contact tho.

My friend has tho, and I like the look of it.

awesome!
I've found that people will either love or hate them. I've ridden in a wintec before (It was an ap I believe) and it was so light and comfy I loved it

I have the Wintec close contact. I was riding in the Wintec pro jump but I didn't like the knee rolls, waaaaay too much of them. Tried the CC and I loved it. I like the equileather, it is really "grippy" with my Ariat Close Contact chaps. It wears really well too. Not a mark on it and I kinda give it a beating, especially when it sits in the back of the truck on the way too and from events. Soooooo easy to clean, damp cloth or blast with a hose, great for galloping in mud! I definitely give it 2 thumbs up. Won many jumper rounds in it too :D

I LOVE MINE!! i just got it off another member from here, its the only saddle ive had so far that fits charlis huge wither, i mean that thing could poke a eye out and the saddle still fits, and i like the fact that as he musces up etc i can change it to fit him

I have a Wintec Pro and I love it. I bought it off e-bay for under $400 and it's like new!

I saw a member on here had a shark fin withered horse and the bates/wintec fit him perfect and I was so glad to see that because Montana has shark fin withers.

What I also like about it, like you said Charli, is that I can change it as he muscles up.

I got mine off ebay, brand new, with the gullet system, a wintec girth, leathers and stirrups for 474 with free shipping. Best deal I found.

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the saddle and to try it out on Montana. And the fact that I could ride in any weather condition and it won't ruin the saddle.

Congrats on saddle! I think you probably won't be changing gullets too often (from my experience). :)

That was me! With my (now late) eventer! Glad you got the wintec - they are great. I don't like the equileather ones as much, personally i prefer the equisuede like on the pro jump, but either/or they are great saddles. The difference for me is the CAIR and the gullets that allow me to make sure the saddle always fits the horse.

Let us know how it works out!

Oh and I also like that you can ride in any weather and it's fine - just hose it off lol!!!!
