GoPro on some XC
This was our first day at the Cross-Country field since early, early this year. She did well, despite the horrible horse eating blue water! She did well once we got through it :)
We've made two prior attempts to go here and we decided we were going regardless if it rained. That's what leather cleaner is for ;) Plus the footing is never really alarmingly slick, even with all the rain we got. Helps that we don't really canter these either ;)
Anyway, here's a POV XC video of Fi and I. Very proud of her :)
While it looks like I'm staring DOWN, the GoPro is very drastically pointed downward for a better POV. My head and eyes are where they should be lol.
Thats what i want to be doing!
That looks like so much fun! Haha might have to attach a GoPro mount to my helmet :D
the water is SO blue! How is that?
Awesome work! Great video too. Why is the water so blue?
WOW the water is so blueeeee!
Nice vid! How did you attatch it to your helmet?
I have a 'Contour' camera so maybe it's easier with the GoPro, but I don't know how to attach mine haha.
Thats a neat use of the camera, was fun to watch!
I'm glad you guys enjoyed the video and the ride :) Fi did really well and only refused the drop into the water and that one jump. I was pretty impressed with her considering she is quite the "worrier!" Several of the jumps on the clips were first time jump overs, so I guess they had to be excessively "mysterious" for her to refuse hehe.
As for the water, I'm not entirely sure how they keep it blue, but this was the first year they've done it. It has no smell and they revamped the entire "water complex" so it's probably just a dye I would dare to guess?
ETP: My husband used Zip ties lol!! You can buy a helmet harness for the GoPro, but some firmly attached zip ties worked perfectly. I'll have to get a picture for you guys ;)
Dyeing the water? That's pretty hardcore :P
As for the zip ties, definitely upload a photo, I'm curious as to how that works! We have stick-on mounts that we use for on ski helmets, but I'm not certain I want to have one permanently stuck on my riding helmet :)
Here you guys go :)
It is hard to see the zip ties, but the follow all the way around the helmet. Works quite nicely!
