Pregnant cat: REALLY skinny! Any help?
We picked up this cat off an old highway who was licking up what looked like throw up. She was sooo thin you could feel every bone and honestly she was just skin and bones.

She gained weight really fast. Then she went into season escaped our house. Was gone for a month or so we didnt expect to see her again then she came back prego as she can be.

She has lost a bit of weight out on the street, but now shes just loosing it again! She isnt gaining any weight even tho she has free choise to eat, good cat food to. She is REALLY freakin huge, like this must be a LARGE freakin litter ive never seen a cat this big (since ive been picking them up off the streets) we think that the babies are taking everything she is bringing into her body and arnt letting her gain the weight she needs. We know shes late in her pregnancy because her nipples are out, large, and have white crusty stuff on them.

But she doesnt have any milk, and she hasnt developed any within the last week like she should. I thought about the carnation good start to help her gain weight, if she would drink it. The worst thing would be is us having to bottle feed kittens again.

Any ideas on having her gain weight?

Could she possibly have worms? I have semi-feral barn cats that I can worm in their feed only and they eat it up. You might try giving her some, I think its ok for pregnant kittys

I did think about worms, but my mom said she probably didnt. But it wouldnt hurt to just worm her. I havent seen any in her poop. If she has worms does that mean my others do to?
I will just worm them all to be safe.

K here are some pics they are not very good, they dont even show how big she is. its really hard to take a pic of her cause shes ALL OVER you! Shes such a sweety I wish I could keep her :( but once she has her babies, we are going to get her spayed and hopefully find them all great homes.

I tried to get one of her face but see how well it turned out ;p

Oh yes, you can definitely tell she is preggers. I would worm just to be on th safe side.

Im going to worm everyone tonight. lol ya she is preggo her eggo.
Hopefully she will start gaining weight, I just dont know if she will produce the milk she needs. :( poor mamma kitty.

But then heck if im wrong on the dates becuase cats are 9 weeks then they pop. And she isnt suppose to have milk yet and she is this huge then she is going to have one heck of a litter. I went on google and looked up cat pregnancies, several web sites said that the last sing is white crusty stuff on the nipples and not eating.

She has been nesting, looking around for spots. I am setting up a cat room for them.
Shes eating small amounts, but hasnt stopped eating completly.
And has had the crusty stuff for a couple weeks now.

I just cant wait till she pops so I can stop being a worry wart.

Do you think if I make up some beans and chicken she will eat it? At least it has tons of protien for her and good kinds of fat. She was trying to sneak some of my fried rice.
Im going to make her some and see anyways. :D

My vet always suggests rice and chicken when we have dogs that need extra tummy care. I would think rice with maybe some chicken broth in it would be good for her.

Ok I will try the rice, I burnt the beans anyways. I was to caught up in a movie and forgot about them. They were on low so only like half beans were burnt, water all gone and the pan is ruined. YAY for me! It was my fav pan too...

I just gave her the chicken after I wormed her so she thinks she got a treat.
