So for those of you who so my thread last year:
http://www.horseforum.com/horse-bree...babies-122962/
The filly arrived on 4/8/13! Here are a few pics. So far no appaloosa coloring. But she is shedding out and is kinda looking like she will have a snow cap. So.... everyone... meet Merdedes! These pictures were taken today... a little over 3 months old :)

She's pretty!!

What a bum on that gal! WOW. On the color though, I wouldn't think she'd shed out with a snowcap if she wasn't born with a little something. Maybe she'll varnish out, and with Apps I guess you never know what's hiding.

She's adorable. She won't get a snowcap, they have to be born with one to be considered a true snowcap. She may varnish, though. :)

Eta: a snowcap is a homozygous Appaloosa pattern, so seeing that her dam is not an app she cannot be a snowcap.

Love the neck and the bum - please tell me the halter is only on for the photo!!!

well as she sheds she is only showing white on her rump. And yea... I was fixing to bring them in the barn. She is in between halter sizes right now. But she is plenty friendly that we dont have to leave a halter on her even if it fit properly.

That is very common with varnish, it goes from back to front. She genetically cannot be a snowcap, her dam does not have Appaloosa characteristics, so therefore she cannot pass them to her foals. I am sure your filly will color out, fairly quickly it sounds like.

Cowgirl -she's gorgeous - ...but please NEVER EVER leave a halter on a foal - far too easy for them to get hooked up in it :-) (Especially one as loose as the one you have on her in these pics!

Thanks guys. She is going to be a really nice horse. My sister did well I think. And thanks for the concerns... but as I stated before... her halter is only on when we are bringing her in and out. So no worries on her getting it hung :)
