What would you call his colour? (A little pic heavy)

His passport says chestnut, but I have always called him liver chestnut. :lol: What do you think?

Yes I would call him a liver chestnut as well.

At this point we do not know what causes the different shades of chestnut, so all chestnuts are genetically the same.

So I agree that he does look like what some people refer to as liver chestnut, but when it's all said and done he's just chestnut.

I don't know. In most those pictures, he just looks like a dark chestnut to me...but then again, I only call a horse a "liver chestnut" if they are exceptionally dark, like almost black looking.

I'm with you smrobs. Not dark enough for my opinion of a liver chestnut. :-)
